DENBIES WINE ESTATE, 8 – 10 July 2011
The event that appeared before our eyes at Denbies Wine Estate this past weekend, was one gigantic display of eclectic art styles and media from talented English, French and German artists, all in support of the Alzheimer's Society.
At the Preview Evening, Friday night, canapés and award winning wines delighted all pallets whilst visitors feasted their eyes on very original works of art. Various sculptures made of ceramic, resin and bronze, elegantly displayed, as well as the hanging 3D relief work, caught much of the attention. From the larger size oil paintings of galloping horses (40" x 52") to the smaller sized watercolours, one's eye couldn't take it all in just one look. Leisurely walking through the exhibit with pleasant music in the background played on the harp by a charming young lady, each visitor participated by entering their three preferred works of art and as expected, many pleasant surprises resulted from this survey.
On Saturday and Sunday, a great number of visitors enjoyed the talented work on display. The Alzheimer's Society representatives, in attendance, were kept busy with replies to queries about dementia and providing useful leaflets. The result being that after seeing so much talented work at this exhibition, one can only imagine the delight to be viewed at the next event. It would be recommended that in order to have a first chance of buying any of the several original artworks - you will even receive a Certificate of Authenticity - art lovers should attend the Preview Evening,
Well worth the effort. Thank you.
